The Pavilion Activities
A wide range of activities catering for all ages is available at The Pavilion including.
Circuit Challenge.
Monday 9:00-10:45am.
Classes designed for all shapes and sizes. Exercise at your own pace with our circuit challenge.
A great way to tone up, improve strength and muscular endurance and an excellent way to improve cardio fitness.
  To The Core.
Monday 10:50-11:00am.
Health and strength starts with the core. We will help you build a more stable, stronger core by strengthening the abdominal and back muscles. Class involves both floor work and body weight upright moves.
Pilates.
Monday 11:00-12:00 noon.
Thursday 11:00-11:45am.
A fantastic mix of core strength, flexibility and abdominal conditioning.
Zumba.
Monday 6:15-7:00pm
Mixes body sculpting movements with dance steps derived from various dances including merengue, salsa, mambo, rumba, flamenco & calypso, with a combination of fast & slow rhythms. Targets areas such as the glutes, legs, arms, abdominals and the heart.
Yoga.
Monday 7:00-8:30pm. (at Shotton Hall)
Tuesday 7:00-8:30pm. (at the Pavilion)
Wednesday 7:00-8:30pm (at the Pavilion)
Gentle stretching exercises designed to improve flexibility and promotes well-being including breathing exercises and guided relaxation.
Helford Road Indoor Bowls Club.
Monday and Friday 1.30 pm - 3.00 pm.

Health Walk.
Tuesday 10:00am.
Leaves the Pavilion at 10.00a.m. every Tuesday. Caters for all abilities by providing the opportunity for a short or long walk. Refreshments available for purchase in the Pavilion Bistro. Please wear suitable footwear.
Bodytone.
Wednesday 9.30-10.15am and 10.20-11.00am.
Friday 9.30-10.15am.
Class aimed at beginners or people wanting to get back into exercise.
Fun, low impact class enhances body tone and improves well being.
 

Aerobotone.
Tuesday 9:30-10:15am
A rhythmic
mix of high, low impact and toning exercises that will raise your heart rate to give you an all-over body workout. This fun filled energetic workout is suitable for all levels of fitness users from beginners to advanced.

Ladies Running Club.
Wednesday from 5:45pm.
Fancied taking up running but never got around to it? Well, here is your chance.
Specifically for female beginners.
Participants must be aged 16+.
Free of charge.

Meditation.
Thursday 2:00-2:45pm
Feeling stressed? Meditation helps quiet your mind, leading to a higher level of awareness and inner calm, allowing yourself to access a sense of tranquillity, peace, and calmness no matter what’s going on around you.

  Taekwondo.
Thursdays 4.30pm until 6.00pm.
The Pavilion is the home of Peterlee Koryo Taekwondo Club.
Open to new participants, male and female aged 6+.
Taekwondo is a Korean martial art and involves learning self defence, blocks, kicks, strikes and patterns.
An Olympic sport and an ideal way to keep fit. £2.50 per lesson.

 

Re-balance.
Thursday 6:00-6:45pm
An energising workout combining the methods of Yoga, Tai chi, and Pilates, with a sequence of stretches, poses and moves bringing harmony and balance back into the body.

Junior Athletics Club.
Saturday 11:00-11:45am.
For youngsters aged 8-13 years. Activities include running, fitness, exercise and athletic-based activities. Fully qualified and CRB checked coach. For further information or to register, please contact the Pavilion 0191 5869957. £2.00 per session (introductory price).
  Chi Kung (Tai Chi).
Friday 10.45-11.45am.
A form of gentle rhythmic exercise composed of movements that are repeated several times. Chi Kung an energy workout that promotes the flow of energy around the body.
Rugby.
Wednesday 6.30pm until 8.30pm and Thursdays 5.30 pm until 7.30pm

Cricket.
Representing Peterlee since the late 1950's. Cricket is played at Peterlee Oval from the last Saturday in April until and including the second Saturday in September each year.
Junior and senior cricket teams play at weekends. Off season junior cricket is played indoors at The Academy at Shotton Hall. Qualified CRB checked coaches.
Football.
Peterlee Helford United Football Club is a community run umbrella organisation for local youth and adult age groups. Affiliated clubs represent Peterlee Helford cater for under 7’s through to 18+. For more information please click on the link Peterlee Helford United FC.
Little Dribblers
Friday 3.30-4.15 and 4.30-5.15pm
6-week courses focusing on passing, shooting.
£18 per course. Waiting list, so please ring for details.
For 3 – 5 year olds
Fun & enjoyable sessions focusing on passing, shooting & dribbling
Learn and develop new football skills in a fun & friendly environment
